International. Display manufacturers are still in the fight to lead the mobile device market. The last to give the fight for this segment was LG, with the launch of a 5.5-inch panel.
This new screen comes with a resolution of 2560×1440, is based on LG Display's Quad HD technology, becoming one of the main players in the high definition segment for mobile devices, in this particular case, for smartphones.
According to the comments that the screen has received, there are several numbers that stand out, such as its 538 ppi density, in addition to its high resolution, which is the maximum designed so far in its type. Therefore, the images, whether static or moving, can be seen through this screen with greater clarity and reality.
Byeong-koo Kim, head of LG's Mobile Development and IT Group, said: "LG Display, which pioneered the high-resolution mobile phone market with the introduction of the first Full HD panel smartphone in 2012, reopens new possibilities with the successful application of QHD technology.
The executive also stressed that this new technology allowed the reduction of 12% in the thickness of the screens, compared to the last ones that had been launched on the market.
