On the occasion of Holy Week I went to some churches and I was pleasantly surprised to see how they have been modernized little by little.
Wireless microphones, large, small and invisible speakers, projectors and flat screens are the new technologies that churches are already handling, perhaps some of them were new. In my time (and not that I have many years) but in those times when I went to Mass every Sunday I saw gigantic speakers on the walls of the temple, wired microphones and colorful billboards with biblical messages or special phrases.
But in 2012 the landscape changed. I found projectors that presented the history of the Holy Thursday monument accompanied by music that came out of small speakers to a sound so moderate, but delicious, that it did not interfere with the lives of the neighbors.
Although I was not only surprised by the Catholic churches, but the temples of prayer and other churches that have adapted their facilities to have such a good audiovisual equipment, that they can carry out any type of show. However, I want to emphasize that they have carried out soundproofing and acoustic processes so as not to disturb the neighbors, since most are located in residential areas, because according to the parameters established by the World Health Organization (WHO), above 70 decibels the emissions are annoying, and above 90 they become harmful.
All this makes me think that not only are these religious institutions entering modernity and using the developments of our industry, but they are becoming aware of the importance of it and the benefit it has for all.
