Mexico. The Mexican Association of Data Centers, MEXDC, will be present at the 25th edition of Panduit's GSIC congress, an IT industry event that brings together experts in technology, infrastructure and interconnection to share market trends and challenges.
On this occasion, the MEXDC will participate in the dialogue panel "Data Center Market Perspectives: Investment, Regulatory, Technological and Sustainability Challenges", topics on which the Association has focused its efforts to drive the growth of the Data Center industry in Mexico.
Adriana Rivera, executive director of the MEXDC, explained that, in this conversation, in which leaders from the companies Ascenty, Equinix, Magnet, Win Empresas and Panduit will also be participating, the Association will share updated and relevant data from the most recent study "Data Center Market in Mexico" that the MEXDC requested from the consulting firms DCD Intelligence and IDC.
"The document addresses the current state of the Data Center industry in Mexico in terms of energy, jobs, the impact on GDP, trends, growth potential, in addition to a census of Data Centers in operation, under construction and those announced in the next five years," said Adriana Rivera.
He added that it is important to note that Mexico and its Data Center, colocation and cloud market are going through a cycle of great growth, with direct investments estimated at 9,192 million dollars for the next five years. Indirect investment in the same period will be 27,576 million dollars, while the impact on GDP is estimated at a cumulative 73,536 million dollars, estimating 5.2% of Mexico's GDP in 2029.
"After a year of hard work since the formation of the MEXDC, we observe that, in Mexico, many technological movements and trends are occurring at the same time around Data Centers such as Nearshoring, deployment of public and private 5G, digitalization of processes, Digital transformation, industry 4.0 or electromobility. Issues that the country must take advantage of to accelerate its growth and technological and economic development in which digital infrastructure plays an important role," said Adriana Rivera.
The 25th edition of Panduit's GSIC will take place May 22-24 in the Riviera Maya of Quintana Roo, Mexico. An event in which more than 700 technology experts from all over the region are expected to participate.
