Colombia. Sustainabilityis a topic of growing interest in the audiovisual industry in general. And for the company Yamaki is no exception. Its General Manager, Oswaldo Rueda, told AVI Latin America some details of its current strategy and future plans in this regard.
"Undoubtedly, the issue of sustainability today is very important, and on our part at Yamaki we have ecological points within our facilities and through training we promote the proper use of them with our workers, additionally we are in the process of linking up with a Collective for the proper management of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)".
He added that they are in the process of identifying the amount of waste they generate and put on the market to contribute a certain percentage and give it proper management, preventing mismanagement in the final disposal of this waste according to the Packaging and Packaging Collection System (Ceccol).
Regarding the behavior of the market for the beginning of 2024, Oswaldo Rueda indicated that for the company, the result of Q1 2024 has been excellent in the two business units they handle in the AV market, SI (Integrated Systems) and AVIP (Audio, Video and Professional Lighting). And without losing sight of the fact that the last two years have been extraordinary (since 2022), maintaining constant growth above the trends they had prior to the pandemic. Some of the sectors that drive these results the most are rental companies, artists, theaters, auditoriums, infrastructure and education.
Finally, he told about two recent projects in which Yamaki participated with allied companies. The first was the Colón Theater, where one of the first Soundscape systems in South America was implemented. The second is at the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, where all the processing part of the Airport was done.
