Latin America. Schneider Electric has presented its sustainability indicators and financial results for the last quarter of 2024. The report highlights that the company achieved a score of 7.55 out of 10 in its Sustainability Impact (SSI), exceeding the initial target of 7.40 by the end of 2024.
The monitoring and disclosure of the quarterly progress of these commitments are fundamental in the projection of the company's sustainability strategy, in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions.
"In 2024, Schneider Electric was recognized by TIME and Statista as the World's Most Sustainable Company. Then, earlier this year we were honored to receive the same recognition from Corporate Knights, an organization that included the organization in first place in its ranking for the second time in history. These achievements, along with other key ESG recognitions, inspire us to achieve even greater goals in 2025," said Chris Leong, Chief Sustainability Officer at Schneider Electric.
"As we enter the final year of our Sustainability Impact program, we are determined to continue to transform ambition into action. There is still a lot of work ahead, but with the support of our extensive ecosystem, our people and all our Impact Makers, we will achieve success."
Schneider Electric makes decisive progress on a quarterly basis to reduce the carbon footprint of its customers. Since 2018, their energy-saving products, software and services have enabled them to save and avoid 679 million tonnes of CO2.
The 1000 suppliers that are part of Schneider's Zero Carbon Project have achieved significant results in adopting energy efficiency initiatives and switching to renewable energy. This has led to an overall reduction in supplier emissions of 40% by the end of 2024.
Schneider suppliers are also committed to maintaining decent work standards, ensuring fair wages, safe working environments and better working conditions. In just one year, the percentage of those who meet the established standards has been significantly exceeded, going from 21% at the end of 2023 to 63% at the end of 2024.
This commitment to ethical practices aligns with Schneider's purpose of making a positive impact globally. A year ahead of schedule, more than 53.4 million people have access to clean and reliable electricity, exceeding the goals set in the SSI to impact 50 million.
Meanwhile, Schneider's rural electrification projects, including solar microgrids in Africa, transform lives by improving the quality of life for local communities and supporting local economies. By the end of 2024, the organization had already trained more than 824,000 people in energy management, approaching the goal of one million by the end of 2025. Through its Youth Education and Entrepreneurship program, the company educates young people with essential skills in energy efficiency, preparing them for careers in sustainable industries.
In addition to these achievements, for the 14th consecutive year Schneider Electric has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), secured a spot on CDP's A-List and earned an MSCI ESG AAA rating. Schneider's latest score from EcoVadis also secured him a Platinum medal.
