Bosch's new network system, the DCN-NG (New Generation Digital Congress Network), was installed in the Council chamber in Hilo, Hawaii, providing county legislators with greater flexibility in the communication system as well as at the time of voting.The DCN has software that controls the display interface and videoconferencing capability on the monitor. The design of the hardware was made with a spatial concept to fit in each of the units where it is installed.
The system also allows the recording of each period of Council sessions using the DCN-MR (Meeting Recorder) software .
The Council chamber has 10 seats equipped with this system, eight for delegates, which have microphone, switch and voting unit; one for the president and one for the secretary, plus two additional discussion units for the assistant and witness.
Warren Miyake, of AVCO, Audio Visual Company, the system's integrator, said Council members are satisfied with the performance and operation of the system.
