With an investment of US$8 million, the company Philips expands the production line of audio, video and multimedia equipment made at the Tierra del Fuego plant; It also has two production plants in the province of Buenos Aires, one of them will have 1,200 m² of surface and will be LED luminaires.
Gustavo Verna, CEO of South Latam Cluste states that "we have decided to expand the local production of several of the product categories we market in the country, with the responsibility of maintaining the quality standards demanded by our company globally and satisfying the needs of all our consumers."
In the Tierra del Fuego plant, the company has had a high percentage of audio and video products (DVD, mp4, mini audio systems, blu ray) as well as televisions (LCD and LED); In terms of lighting, the Argentine branch of Philips has been producing for more than 15 years a diverse line of luminaires such as office fixtures, industry, projectors for urban beautification, sports lighting and public lighting, among others.
"The advent of new technologies in the lighting industry is the engine by which we have invested in this segment, where the focus will be on producing LED luminaires," said Gustavo Verna.
