The AT5047 is the third model in audio-Technica's Series 50 range of studio microphones, after the AT5040 vocal microphone and the AT5045 instrument condenser microphone, the new model extends the reach of the line with its high dynamic performance.
Based on the FOUR rectangular diaphragm design of the AT5040, the AT5047 is a cardioid capacitor with an output coupled to the transformer that provides a remarkably smooth sound character and ensures high SPL handling without the risk of overloading microphone preamps or console inputs.
It is designed for high performance, from brushes in drum boxes to powerful vocals, guitar amplifiers or wind instruments.
Like the rest of the 50 Series, the AT5047 is hand-mounted and designed in aluminum and brass, with an advanced internal anti-shock mount that decouples the capsule from the microphone body. The design of the AT8480 stand, included with the AT5047, also ensures isolation from shocks and vibrations transmitted in the studio.
