The new version v1.2.2 of the OmniStream firmware reinforces the distribution of AV over IP to video walls and system management within All-IP meeting rooms, giving integrators and end users a solution to manage and manage high-resolution content over the network.
Key performance improvements include seamless high-speed switching or "fast switching" and new daisy chaining capabilities for OmniStream's encoder pooling functionality.
This feature, available on OmniStream Pro and R-Type systems, reduces source switching time to less than 10 milliseconds and actively manages EDID and HDCP negotiations between sources and destinations, including displays and video walls. The result is a single, cohesive image across all screens, without the choppy appearance if video streams to set-top boxes are out of sync.
For meeting spaces, the network switch becomes the switch, creating enormous freedom to deliver switching systems of the right size without the limitations of a fixed I/O array.
