Undoubtedly, the pandemic generated by Covid-19 will have an important impact on the growth that the audiovisual industry has had in recent years, both globally and in our region. But the recovery forecasts are encouraging.
According to the results of avixa's latest Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis, IOTA report, while the industry in 2019 had global revenues of US$259 billion, at the end of 2020 it will decrease to US$239 billion.
Despite the outlook for this year, the report is encouraging, as it expects the industry to start its growth by 2021, in 2022 to recover the global figures before the pandemic and by 2025 it will reach US$315 billion. In the Americas, annual growth of 4.7% is expected, reaching US$108 billion by 2025.
Another interesting forecast revealed by the 2020 Macroeconomics Trends Analysis, META, a report also published by AVIXA, highlighted the strength of jobs within the audiovisual industry despite the global crisis we are experiencing.
The study highlights that wages in general are maintained although the number of jobs occupied by the industry may be temporarily affected. In addition, it emphasizes the positive impact of the training and certification it has on the industry and on the salary of professionals.
