Although the arrival of the pandemic in Latin America at the beginning of 2020 generated a paralysis of business and the execution of projects in the economy not essential for people's daily lives, from which the audiovisual industry was not exempt, with the reactivation in the second half of that year, the residential segment had a rapid recovery.
This was shown by the different manufacturers and integrators with whom we spoke for the report that we presented in the first edition of 2021 of AVI Latin America on home automation, who stressed that work and study from home, as well as prolonged confinements, generated a greater number of projects in this segment.
Due to mobility restrictions, end users are looking for better options to continue with the home office and entertainment and comfort options provided by technology integrations for the residential sector.
They even highlighted that many integrators who traditionally work for the commercial, corporate and government sectors, included home automation solutions in their portfolio and thus managed to keep their businesses afloat.
No doubt the world changed with the pandemic and the new dynamics provide opportunities for the AV industry.
