Mexico. For a people that is practically entirely Christian and mostly Catholic, the arrival of a figure like that of the Pope is not a minor event. Showing how good hosts they usually are, the Mexicans made the soul of the Bishop of Rome vibrate with a splendid welcome where the symbols that most distinguish this country throughout the world were exhibited, and which was attended by a large and enthusiastic group of parishioners.
Along with the mariachi and the folkloric ballet that performed several of the musical numbers that identify us around the world such as the Son de la Negra, the Jarabe Tapatío and the Cielito Lindo, the Rogue R1 Wash of CHAUVET Professional were integrated into the show flooding with light and color the wide stage placed in front of the stands.
"When we were invited to collaborate in this event, a mixture of emotions invaded us. On the one hand, we are really honored to participate in the reception of such a distinguished and beloved character for Mexicans, and at the same time concerned to understand the enormous responsibility they were placing in our hands," said Andrés Marroquín, Director of Kona Producciones, a company that supplied all the lighting equipment that was used to welcome Pope Francis.
Kona Productions placed 24 Rogue R1 Wash equipment along two sides of the floorboard frame where the dances were played. "We chose the R1 Wash for its sleek, compact design, which helped us get an obstacle-free appearance in sight," Marroquín added. "In addition, the power, the color mix and the motorized zoom of the Rogue allowed us to create attractive shots for the television cameras that transmitted the reception, which ended up becoming a real party."
The Rogue R1 Wash is equipped with 7 LEDs of four RGBW colors and 15 watts, and a motorized zoom from 11° to 48° for use in short or long distance applications. Its movements are fast and precise, and its compact size allows it to be installed virtually anywhere.
Some of the challenges faced by the Kona Productions team made up of 20 technicians, was the time to do the installation and hide the wiring, all in the middle of a strong security device. "Although we had several days to enter the equipment and do the installation and the proper tests, it was very useful to have a powerful but light equipment of reduced dimensions," Marroquín said.
"Other features of the R1 Wash that helped us simplify the configuration are its low consumption and the possibility of chaining the power of several equipment, so we only had the need to pass through the drain duct a cable with 6-way socapex connector to power the 24 Rogue equipment."
The results are obvious. The world witnessed a memorable event that filled with light and hope the hearts of those who came together to celebrate the visit of the Vicar of Christ and listen to the message of Pope Francis in Aztec lands.
