Latin America. In a globalized and modern world like the one we live in, technology merges with routine and allows us to coexist so that our own "wearable" devices help us improve and facilitate our quality of life.
Based on this, Mediatek has developed the Mediatek Labs initiative with the aim that anyone with a good idea can do it through a program that offers a software development kit, hardware and technical documentation. That way, entrepreneurs, developers and creators can use these tools to carry out their ideas until mass production.
"Connected smart home and office devices are transforming the way people interact with spaces. Everything related to surveillance, or systems that improve connectivity, watches that help us stay healthy or GPS capable of predicting where our loved ones are, are part of the ideas of wearables that can be realized thanks to this platform and the kit, "said Amikam Yalovetzky, Senior Sales Manager of Mediatek in Latin America.
The development platform is called Linklt and is based on the Mediatek Aster chipset. Through this platform it is possible to create any wearable and loT design, making them more accessible to everyone and taking advantage of the design development model that Mediatek has.
Trends 2016
This 2016 we have seen several advances made thanks to the Mediatek platform, such as the Tinitell portable phone, it is the world's smallest for children, with smart call and location functions, ideal for keeping parents in the loop. The phone works with a 2G SIM card, can handle multiple contacts, and has GPS for positioning.
The Hug Smartwatch has also recently been launched which is designed to help its users control their devices through the movement of the hand. With it you can program your favorite music, turn off the lights in the room, operate the microwave or make calls, all with a simple wave of the hand.
