International. Casio's LampFree XJ-V1 projector has been awarded an AV Award 2016 for being considered the "Best Projector of the Year" in the field of equipment with a capacity of up to 4,999 lumens of brightness. This is the first AV Award obtained by the Japanese company, whose products had been among the finalists in previous years.
In London, England, the eighteenth AV Awards were held, the prestigious award that recognizes the best in the professional audio and video industry, taking into account different criteria in terms of technological innovation, user benefits and commercial success.
The winner of the 2016 edition, in the category of "Best Projector of the Year", up to 4,999 lumens, was the LampFree XJ-V1 from Casio. The jury highlighted its ease of use, affordable price, image quality and brightness level, in addition to the advanced hybrid laser and LED light source technology.
The XJ-V1 was launched in 2015 and immediately took a position in the market, for its features, functions and price-benefit ratio. Casio owns 73%* of the global market in lamp-free projectors of 2,500 lumens and up.
Phil Clark, President of the Casio Projector Division in the UK, said: "To win us an AV Award is an incredible achievement for us. The AV Awards are the most prestigious ceremony in the industry, and clearly shows the value that LampFree projection technology brings, not only to our customers, but to the industry as a whole. The Casio LampFree XJ-V1 has made an impact on the education market, with its affordable price and has managed to bring the benefits of a mercury lamp-free projector to more users than ever before."
The 2016 edition of the AV Awards broke the attendance record, with more than 1,200 industry professionals gathered at the Gosvenor House hotel in London, where the event took place. The organisation was run by AV Magazine, the UK's leading industry publication.
