Mexico. Epson announced, as part of the initiatives in conjunction with the Millennium Art Collection of Grupo Milenio, the Translucent Murals project within the framework of the 70th anniversary of the National Institute of Cancerology (INCan). The initiative consists of the printing of plastic works on vinyl in large format, such as drawings, watercolors and engravings, which will be placed on the glass of the hospital facilities, creating two exhibition rooms for mural works.
These spaces will provide an atmosphere of beauty that will generate for patients and medical staff a haven of peace and tranquility, which will help them in their recovery and hard work.
As the INCan is a transit space, the glass of the reception, the waiting room and a bridge that connects the main building to the old tower of the medical center were intervened to create a symbolic space. The works are printed by Epson, which was carried out on large-format S-Series equipment. For the first temporary exhibition, two painters were invited to make the works: Arturo Buitrón, with his work Paisaje Rizoma, will occupy the Epson Art for Health Room located in reception and waiting room.
Buitrón reinterprets the landscape from the essentiality of its forms, nature and vegetation. "This sensation is not evident, it expands like a rhizome, it is a reference with colors, branches and foliage that grows through the windows creating a fantastic landscape that receives the patients and staff of INCan," said Avelina Lésper, director of the Milenio Arte Collection.
Cristina Sandor is the other artist who shares her creations through the work Codex of Life, which will be an abstract narrative that will accompany patients on their journey. "Geometry as a version of balance and harmony. The color is related to create a rhythmic sequence that carries a sequential palpitation. From bright to subdued tones, the contrast is playful and surprising," explains Lésper.
"Our goal in participating in this exhibition is to be able to contribute with our technology to achieve this therapeutic effect on patients and harmony for doctors and anyone who transits those spaces, it is an honor for Epson," said Mauricio Doce, Marketing and Communication Manager for Mexico.
This project will be inaugurated next Thursday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m. by the director of INCan, Abelardo Meneses, the director of the Milenio Arte Collection, Avelina Lésper, the executive president of Grupo Milenio, Francisco González and directors of Epson Mexico.
