Colombia. Although the company Videonet emerged in Cali, Colombia, providing videoconferencing services, a new technology for companies at that time, today it celebrates 15 years standing out as one of the most important distributors in the AV industry and with a presence throughout the country.
AVI LATINOAMÉRICA spoke with Luis López, manager of the company, who recalled that with his wife they founded the company, after working 13 years with companies that imported projectors to Colombia and that made integration.
"From videoconferencing services we went on to make complete integration with audio, projection, acoustic systems for classrooms, boardrooms, conferences and in all markets. Then we started to distribute equipment and accessories for professional integrations," he said.
Luis López added that at one point they had to decide if they were dedicated to integration or distribution, going down the latter path, because they found greater opportunities for the market in general.
In these 28 years in the Colombian AV industry, 15 of them with Videonet, its founder has been able to see significant changes. It mainly highlights the openness to many technologies that have entered the business and that changed, because before it was very closed.
"We celebrate 15 years of growth and continuous learning. Today we have a presence throughout the country, offices and warehouses in Cali and Bogotá and commercial agents in Barranquilla, Bucaramanga and Medellín," he said.
Videonet began in 2016, with InfoComm International, a series of seminars for integrators in order to contribute to the professionalization of the industry. The first was in Cali and for 2017 similar seminars are scheduled in Medellín, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla, as well as virtual seminars with specific topics.
This year, as part of the celebration of 15 years, they will inaugurate their second experience center in Bogotá, after the success of the first in Cali. In addition, they will update the certification in ISO quality management systems, with which they already have as a marketing company.
The founder of Videonet concluded that "for 11 years we have been members of InfoComm, the sales and technical staff has done RAVT courses and one of the goals for the year is to achieve the CTS, always seeking to provide peace of mind to our customers that their projects can be reliable and profitable".
