Lighting, the future of connectivity

Mexico. The phenomenon related to the Internet of Things has become one of the fastest growing applications in information technology globally due, in large part, to the fact that its potential use is practically infinite.

According to the IDC Directions conference, given by Veron Turner, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Systems at IDC, in 2016 about 11,000 million devices were connected to the Internet around the world and it is expected that by 2020 the figure will triple, reaching 30,000 million smart devices. Among the most prominent industries are automotive, electronics, healthcare, construction, transportation, commerce and wireless connectivity.

Within wireless connectivity, one of the aspects that has stood out is digital lighting, which has managed to generate a great impact and has aroused the multidisciplinary interest of architects, scientists, industrialists and countless specialists who have found incredible areas of opportunity in intelligent light.

This constant change demands that the sector has training and updating spaces that allow them to be up to date with trends, which is why ELA Expo Lighting America 2017, an annual meeting where designers, architects, large users, government representatives and lighting lovers, will experience first-hand news from the main national and international actors.

The expo, which will celebrate its seventh edition, will focus its main theme on "Light and Connectivity" and will bring together thousands of specialized professionals from 20 countries, to share the latest innovations in lighting and related technologies.

ELA Expo Lighting America will feature an engaging educational program, which is spearheaded by distinguished lighting designers such as Paulia Villalobos, Matthew McCormick and COCOLAB.

Likewise, the expo will work hand in hand with some of the most important companies in the sector, among which is Osram; Leadvance; ATP; Philips; Construlita; Acuity Brands; Iluméxico and ArchDaily, which will give 9 keynote lectures.

Once again, the event will seek to establish a link with attendees through interactive areas such as the Trends Showcase; the Connectivity Area; the Dark Room and the Decor Lighting Pavilion, spaces where trends will be shown, the best brands of decorative lighting will meet, you can experience the effects of light and much more.

In this way, the recommendations of the experts in the field will be complemented by an exhibition floor, where visitors will be able to find the main national and international manufacturers of the professional lighting industry, as well as related technologies such as energy efficiency, automation, control, renewable energy, etc.

ELA Expo Lighting America will be held from February 28 to March 2 at Centro Citibanamex, Mexico City.
