Latin America. Audio-Technica unveiled updates to its popular iPhone app Installed Sound Support. Initially launched in 2014, the app included features such as RTA and SPL measurement, playback and recording of short audio test clips, and a gain calculator.
The latest update includes new modules by popular acclaim and improved graphics, including the following new features: UHF frequency tables for Audio-Technica's wireless microphone systems, very useful for avoiding intermodulation when planning setup and using multiple wireless A-T channels around TV channels for broadcast (US only).
In addition, a cable calculator for Audio-Technica's ATUC-50 digital conferencing system; antenna line loss calculator for some of the most popular RF cables on the market today; Improved RTA and SPL module with a peak maintenance function and a pitch/noise generator.
The new version of the app retains the following functions of the previous edition: wavelength function, which calculates the wavelength of the audio in feet and / or meters based on the real-time analyzer of RTA and SPL; recording/playback of up to five test recordings; necessary gain function, which uses a gain calculator to determine information on potential acoustic gain (PAG) and necessary acoustic gain (NAG); information links to the A-T website and audio tools (AudioTools) in the App Store.
