As a researcher at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 1997, Gabriel studied and developed systems based on internet distributed control. His M.Sc. in Control and Automation (2000) focused on the construction of an automation system for load monitoring and command over the Internet. In 2002, he was integrated as a member of a research group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme) in Freiburg, Germany; And at the end of 2004 he founded his own company.
