Latin America. Epson announced the winners of its international project Mapping Challenge Latin America. The chosen artists will be able to showcase their talent in a series of mapping shows developed with the world's most advanced technology on Epson laser video projectors.
Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico are the countries that between August 2017 and January 2018 will have events that will be held outdoors and will be open to the public using emblematic facades of each of the countries.
The list of winners consists of:

- Brazil: Preto e Branco Study, Brazil
- Chile: Projection of Ideas.
- Colombia: AnimaticMx, Erika Tirado & Jonathan Hernández.
- Costa Rica: Estudio Darklight, VJ Eletroiman.
- Ecuador: ANIMA EC, Santiago Garcés, Cristian Bolaños, Paulo Guzmán.
- Mexico: DUX Animation, Daniel García MINO, Animation Direction; Ana Ballesca, Executive Producer; Manuel González, Production; Mariano Ruiz, Lead Animator; Bernardo Juárez, 3D Animator; Carolina Escartín, illustrator; Omar Zúñiga, 3D Animator; Roberto Arocha, 2D Animator.

Hundreds of artists submitted their projects between the months of June and July and were evaluated by an outstanding jury composed of Lars Sandlund, CEO of Dataton, Yasunori Ogawa, Director of Epson's Visual Products Operations Division and prominent artists Bart Kresa, Refik Anadol and VJ Spetto.
"I really enjoyed discovering the different proposals, and choosing the winners. It certainly wasn't an easy task. I am confident that the winning shows will surprise and provide great entertainment to viewers in all locations by putting mapping in focus as an art form in itself," commented Lars Sandlund, CEO of Dataton.
For the realization of the projections, PRO L25000U and PRO L1505U equipment will be used. On the other hand, the PRO L1505U has exceptional image quality and up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free. It has 10 motorized lens options for easy integration with applications, advanced 4K Enhancement technology, image self-calibration and brightness adjustment.
Through innovative video projection technology, Epson, together with Dataton and local partners, are eager to showcase the work and creativity of mappers to enhance the rich Latin American culture and tradition.
