Latin America. Due to the importance of the Internet in daily life and its use as an information and communication tool, it is essential to have security measures to protect communications, and of course the equipment we use for it.
In this talk, Juan David Pineda, Technical Director of the Apollo Scientific Computing Center, eafit University in Medellín, Colombia, will talk about the problem of security in the virtual world, starting from the historical perspective, through different technologies and why they are inherently insecure, to what is the prospective in this important area of technology that touches us all, not only from the corporate but to the personal.
Juan David, is a Systems Engineer from eafit University and candidate for a Master's Degree in Information Security and Telecommunications from the Open University of Catalonia, Spain. Since 2007 he has worked in the area of teaching and research in the topics of computer security and high performance computing.
