Colombia. Small diameter cables, angled connection panels, vertical patching systems and rotating labels are some of the solutions that, thanks to their design and optimization, allow today a considerable saving of space for business telecommunications rooms.
According to Vladimir Linares, Technical Systems Engineer at Panduit, "the great needs for wired connections in business environments are growing at a dizzying pace. Faster server speeds, building management systems, security systems, power over Ethernet and wireless access points that depend on the same network create an increased demand for wired connections and as a consequence the enormous challenge of optimizing space."
And it is that this challenge is not only presented in the renovations of existing offices but also in new facilities, which in many opportunities force to accommodate more equipment in the same communications room, due to the unstoppable demand for the technological resources required by these corporate spaces.
"This need has generated the reaction of companies like Panduit that thanks to their avant-garde research and innovation departments, have developed new connectivity and cable management systems that optimize spaces, allowing to reduce the physical dimensions of the site that the equipment will occupy and likewise, reduce material costs, installation and maintenance time", says Linares.
Innovations
To give an example, a 4-rack configuration has been the standard for network management in a telecommunications room, designed with network redundancy and room for future growth. For this configuration, today there is already a wide range of robust and reliable solutions for efficient cabling management.
These include copper and fibre cabling systems with small diameters and very high performance for superior network performance. High-density 28 AWG solutions optimise configurations that minimise the need for horizontal guides and allow for easier installations and tighter packaging.
Other solutions such as high-density vertical patch panels achieve great savings in driving space and in many cases, the same amount of connectivity in half the space.
Similarly, angled connection panels direct wiring to one side to eliminate horizontal cable management and maintain the proper bending radius avoiding the danger of premature wear and optimizing space. Together these solutions in high-density architecture, have the ability to save up to 48% in the telecommunications room.
With the purpose of updating the technological world interested in this trend, Panduit, beyond being a provider of physical infrastructure, also seeks to be a consultant and together with its allies provide complete solutions and competitive advantages of value for companies.
