Latin America. The Belden company has recently presented numerous novelties of its expanded audiovisual catalog. While the 8451 is a well-known cable for line audio, so is the new version "9451". It has several advantages such as "bonded foil" or glued sheet, that is, the sheet type shielding is glued to the cable lining to facilitate connectorization.
When we defog, the "foil" goes along with the lining, which saves us time, making the connector cleaner. In addition, the 9451 comes in ten different colors, which is highly appreciated in production environments with multiple signals, since it allows a faster location of a certain cable, speeding up the maintenance of the different audios handled.
Another Belden patent that has this cable is the "Z fold", or closure of the shield in the form of "Z". When the foil is screwed on itself, it is prevented from opening easily and we take care of the integrity of the audio signal against external interference noise.
In cables for microphones, Belden confirmed that the commercial version of the popular 8412, skyrocketing among users with more committed budgets. The 1812 cable has a thinner gauge (and therefore with less copper, which makes it more economical), without losing the flexibility required for an application such as microphonics.
On the other hand, the increase in noise interference in the most populated cities, both high frequency (RF) and low frequency (EM), is making users more aware of the advantages of double-pair cable in microphone signals. The Belden model 1192 has 2 pairs: it screws one on top of the other, which gives a super swing, and therefore, an extra shield of a signal as delicate as this, which works at the level of milivolts.
Regarding digital audio (AES3), Belden recalls that this protocol requires a cable with specific impedance (110 Ohm) and whose conductors are covered by foamed insulators that maintain the electro-static charge (capacitance) below 40 picofarads per foot. For this application it has the 1800B for fixed installation and the 1800F for mobile application (touring).
For those content producers who handle audio and video over IP, Belden manufactures category cables (CAT5e for audio, CAT6a for video) that withstand the rigors of live production. Belden calls these new cables CATsnakes.
One of the most popular is the 1305, which brings numerous advantages over the network cable for installation: for example, its double anti-impact lining, an anti-humidity filter, its multi-filar conductors, or the Belden patent of the "glued pair" for maximum integrity of AV signals over IP.
If we prevent the two conductors of each pair from being separated by the use and mistreatment suffered by the cables in these events, it manages to reduce to the maximum the RL ("return loss" or amount of signal that returns to origin), which is a critical element when handling audio or video over IP.
Finally, these network cables match perfectly with belden's new RJ45 "REV" plugs, with minimum "IL" (insertion loss) and maximum speed of connectorization in the field.
