Metrocinemas installs first pure laser multiplex

Central America. The Honduran cinema chain Metrocinemas has installed Christie's pure laser RGB projection, based on Christie RealLaser lighting technology, as well as the Christie Vive Audio sound system, for its new Metrocinemas Megamall multiplex, which will be the first complex in Central America fully equipped with RGB laser projectors.

This new multiplex, located in the largest shopping center of San Pedro Sula, the industrial capital of the country, will be the most modern and attractive in Honduras. Its eight rooms, with a total capacity for 1007 people, will have Christie CP2315-RGB and Christie CP2320-RGB projectors, providing them with unprecedented levels of brightness, color and contrast at the service of a cinematographic quality difficult to find in commercial cinema auditoriums.

Metrocinemas is a long-standing customer of Christie, as the 30 theaters it has in the country are equipped with Xenon projectors of the brand. "We have always trusted Christie for its state-of-the-art technology and the company's worldwide recognition as an undisputed leader in this industry," explained Raúl Agüero, Commercial Manager of Metrocinemas.

All rooms of the new multiplex will be equipped with the Christie Vive Audio cinema sound solution, more specifically with LS1 and LS2 screen speakers, LS4S surround speakers, S218LP subwoofers and Class D amplifiers CDA2, CDA5 and CDA7.5.

Metrocinemas has also acquired three other RGB laser projectors from Christie for a new film complex in Santa Rosa de Copan, a city located in the west of the country, where there has never been a cinema before. Specifically, this three-room complex with capacity for 480 people will be equipped with two Christie CP2315-RGB and one Christie CP2320-RGB. Christie Vive Audio's Class D amplifiers, screen speakers and subwoofers will also be used in these three rooms to enhance the capabilities of the cinema and make each seat have the best sound.

Metrocinemas has also used Christie Vive Audio for the VIP room of its América cinemas, a six-screen complex in Tegucigalpa, the country's capital. "It is one of our classic multiplexes that serves a demanding audience and that deserved a room differentiated from the others," explained Raúl Agüero. 

With 7.1 sound, this room will be equipped with LS1 display speakers, S218LP subwoofers, LS4S surround speakers and Class D CDA1, CDA5 and CDA7.5 amplifiers. The operation with Metrocinemas is being carried out through the TMPC integrator, which will supply and install all Christie equipment in the three complexes.

The installation of these projectors together with the Christie Vive Audio systems will consolidate Metrocinemas' position as one of the most avant-garde exhibition chains in the entire American continent and will provide its viewers with an unforgettable cinematic experience."
