Latin America. Epson has been included in the Derwent ranking of the 100 most innovative companies in the world in the period 2018-2019, as announced by the company Clarivate Analytics headquartered in Philadelphia.
The Japanese company is also among the best companies for being one of the 35 organizations that has been recognized for the eighth consecutive year since the creation of the aforementioned program in 2011.
"These innovative companies demonstrate strong and consistent performance that enables them to successfully acquire the rights to their innovations and seek broad protection and global markets for potential products and services based on such innovation. These companies are also recognized by their peers for creating leading innovations that can then be used by others," Clarivate Analytics announced.
"Epson frequently files a large number of patent applications, and this year it has been very successful in acquiring the rights. The company has also demonstrated good performance in registering inventions with the authorities of four countries (united States, Japan, China and Europe), compared to last year."
Epson holds a large number of patents worldwide and works with patent agencies in 20 countries or more. In the 2017 ranking, Epson ranked ninth in Japan for the number of patents awarded, while in the United States it ranked 22nd and in China, 16th (among foreign companies).
