InfoComm. With the release of HDbaseT 3.0, with the open war between 1G vs 10G, and with the first equipment with 8K resolution, cable is becoming a critical element to safeguard the integrity of the video signal.
"Although the HDbaseT alliance indicates that a CAT cable is sufficient, it is something learned in the sector that this does not usually guarantee anything, especially when we want to take advantage of its potential (high resolution, good distance, PoE power, control commands ...)", said Juanma Cortes de Belden.
Installers already know that HDbaseT is susceptible to "alien crosstalk" or external noise. For this reason, the BEC (Belden engineering center) carried out numerous tests with different cables, its own and from other manufacturers, to know perfectly what a signal like HDbaseT requires, and has created the 2183 cable to support all types of video and control signals.
Among its advantages are that it uses Belden's patent "glued pair" to reduce capacitance and signal return, as well as a special shield with helical "drain" that grants protection to the video signal. In addition, this cable is certified for "Power Over HDbaseT" by the UL agency.
