Latin America. Audio-Technica has updated its UniPoint U891 surface microphone models with the addition of a two-state RGB LED indicator and a touch capacitive type user switch that can be defined for three operating modes, replacing previously available models.
All new U891 models are equipped with an 80 Hz UniSteep bass cut filter, which reduces the uptake of ambient noise from low frequencies, UniGuard innovations that offer unparalleled protection against radio frequency interference and a rotating PivotPoint connector that changes the cable's exit point, without the need for tools.
Designed for easy and flexible control in conference and boardroom facilities, all U891 condenser surface microphone models feature a robust molten metal housing and silicon pads that minimize the coupling of microphone surface vibration. Threaded inserts at the bottom of the microphone allow screw mounting to increase safety. The unit's stand-alone electronics eliminate the need for external power modules. All models accept the available interchangeable elements that allow an acceptance angle between 100 and 300 degrees.
The U891RCb model (which updates the previous model, U891RCx) is a wide-range condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and offers an external contact closure that allows users to control a remote device (a camera, for example) from a switch located on the microphone. Locally, the microphone wake switch can be set for three operating modes: tap to on/tap to turn off, press to speak, and press to mute.
The brand new U891RbO is an omnidirectional condenser surface microphone with a three-mode switch. The microphone is designed for surface mount applications such as high-quality sound reinforcement, professional recording, television, conferencing and other demanding sound capture situations.
