International. The Christie Spyder X80 video processor has been responsible for managing the signals of the main screen of the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit, the international reference meeting of this energy management company, which took place in Barcelona.
The symposium, which has already held 14 editions in cities such as Hong Kong, Paris, Singapore and Atlanta, brought together more than 3,000 experts and industry leaders from around the world at the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB), to share the latest trends, challenges and opportunities to enhance and digitize the economy. Thus, the Catalan city became for two days the world capital in terms of innovation, digital transformation and sustainability.
The screen in question, installed in the main auditorium of the Summit, was an impressive LED display of 2.6mm pixel pitch with a size of 36 x 6 meters that offered a whopping 13824 x 2304 pixels, that is, more than 31 million pixels.
To move such a volume of pixels with the highest quality, Dushow Barcelona, the audiovisual services company in charge of the event, used a Christie Spyder X80 with 24 inputs and 16 outputs with an unprecedented processing power of 80 megapixels, real 4K resolution and 60Hz.
"Until the time of the event, there was no other team on the market capable of moving that number of inputs and outputs in 4K with a single machine and without the need to link various processors," said Riad El Abed, technical director of Dushow Barcelona. "And all this with the highest levels of performance, flexibility and functionality," he added.
The display was used to display videos, PPT presentations and animations related to the impact of new technologies on energy and automation processes, with the Spyder X80 creating multiple PIPs and windows, and using 5 4K outputs for the display and 11 4K outputs for the rest of the system.
Riad El Abed highlights other features of the Spyder: "It allows you to have multiple pixel spaces formed by a mixture of sources with an infinite number of destinations, from simple displays, through videowalls, to flat panels and projections of all kinds".
This year's edition of the Schneider Innovation Summit had a resounding success of affluence: more than 3,200 attendees, including customers, partners, suppliers and influencers, with more than 50 external speakers and more than 40 sessions in a conference program where it could be seen how the Internet of Things, the 'blockchain' or chain of blocks, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning are breaking into energy management and automation.
