Ecuador. The Condado de Quito shopping center has just inaugurated the first cinema in Ecuador equipped with a pure RGB laser projector of 4K resolution. This is the MCX Multicines Xtreme room, where a Christie CP4330-RGB projector based on Christie RealLaser lighting technology has been installed. The operation has been carried out through the integrator CES+ (Cinema Equipment & Supplies).
This room of the Multicines exhibition chain has 257 premium seats, a 15-meter screen and Dolby Atmos sound. "With this new cinema we wanted to replicate the quality of image and sound that film directors and producers want to transmit in their films," explained Gonzalo López, general manager of Multicines.
He added: "The fact of having the first 4K RGB laser room in Ecuador makes us feel like leaders in technological innovation; that's the vision of Multicines."
The general manager of Multicines also highlighted "the low operating cost of the equipment with reduced energy consumption and an almost maintenance-free operation, which protects the interests of our company".
Diego López, general manager OF NOLA and Christie's Andean Region, said: "We are extremely pleased that Multicines has opted for Christie to create the only 4K RGB laser room in Ecuador. And we're thrilled to see more and more Latin American exhibition companies choosing Christie RealLaser technology available for all types of cinemas, from the smallest to the large format screens for their new cinemas."
Multicines began its operations in Ecuador in 1996 as a pioneer in the country in the commercial exploitation of cinema through multiroom complexes of modern technology. It currently has 54 screens in different parts of the country, many of which are equipped with Christie cinema projectors.
