Brazil. A Multi-screen processor Christie Spyder X80 has been in charge of the gigantic LED mural of more than 200 square meters used in HSM Expo, the most important business event in Brazil, whose last edition was recently held at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo. The Brazilian company Infoview has been in charge of the audiovisual services of this event.
HSM Expo connects global figures from the world of innovation and business with the executives and managers of the most important companies in Brazil through transformative educational experiences. Among the speakers of this edition were Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post; Fareed Zakaria, host of CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS; Eric Ries, entrepreneur recognized as a pioneer of the Lean Startup movement; and Hugh Herr, chosen by Time magazine as Leader of the Bionic Age.
The Insights Auditorium, the main space of the event, was equipped for the occasion with four LED screens of 2.9 mm pixel pitch, located one next to the other, which totaled 52 meters wide, generating a total of 33 million pixels.
To be able to manage such a volume of pixels, Infoview relied on a Christie Spyder X80 with 24 inputs and 16 outputs with a processing power of 80 megapixels, real 4K resolution and 60Hz.
"We chose the Spyder X80 because it was the only team capable of working with the immense resolution that we were going to handle in this event and with the large number of inputs and outputs we needed, and all this in a single machine," explained Daniela del Corona, CEO of Infoview.
He adds: "It's a team that allows you to deliver high-quality visuals without having to worry about resolutions or bandwidths. It also has a very simple and efficient programming interface, and allows you to have creative freedom and multiple pixel spaces without programming restrictions."
The screens were used to display videos, PPT presentations and animations, with the Spyder X80 managing the signals and creating multiple PIPs and windows. In conjunction with the Spyder, two 10-input Blackmagic Design 4K switchers were also used.
Infoview also used Christie's Montage II M2C-50 console, designed specifically to work with the Spyder. It is a playout device that allows flexible control of the Spyder, accelerating the management of PIPs, mixing controls, transitions, etc.
The Christie Spyder X80 is becoming the de facto processor for managing signals from the largest displays on the planet. Global events such as Mobile World Congress (MWC), Web Summit, Schneider Electric Innovation Summit, CCXP Brazil and Adobe Summit, among many others, have relied on the Spyder for their giant screens. The processor has also been permanently installed in auditoriums of large multinationals such as Telefónica, Audi and Daimler.
