Mexico. Multimedia donated thermal imaging cameras for the detection of fever in the building of the Military Hospital of the North Zone and in the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit, both agencies in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León.
As part of its community solidarity program, Multimedia installed, configured and implemented Hikvision-branded body temperature measurement cameras at the main entrances of both buildings.
Ricardo Jáuregui, general director of Multimedia explained that in the face of the new health reality it is important that public institutions and private companies prepare with cutting-edge technology.
"Our initial commitment is to place fever detection cameras in those places of high pedestrian traffic and that precede the entrance of a building or closed square, for which we rely on Hikvision, a leading manufacturer in this technology, we are very proud to be pioneers in innovative solutions and committed to the future", said the manager.
For her part, Yonhary Martínez Garabán, deputy director of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit, explained that temperature detection and measurement based on thermometric technology allows the rapid detection of temperature in people, becoming an effective prevention tool.
"It's a great tool, because fever is one of the main symptoms of some infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. An efficient measurement of all those people who enter an area, as the thermal imaging camera does, helps us to obtain a timely diagnosis," said the specialist.
Hikvision thermal imaging cameras allow temperature detection in as little as one second. Thanks to its speed and efficiency, long lines are avoided in front of the accesses and exits in public places, which helps to avoid foci of infection.
For Ricardo Jáuregui, this donation has a very special meaning: "These are difficult times for everyone, but only by helping each other can we get ahead. Just as it is important to stay at home, it is also vital that companies and institutions prepare for the new health reality."
It should be clarified that the use of these new thermal imaging cameras does not end when the world overcomes this terrible pandemic. These devices will be of common and permanent use and will be increasingly advanced, combining analytical data with artificial intelligence and Big Data information, which will mean a huge advance in security issues.
