Latin America. Due to the pandemic generated by Covid-19, the 2020 version of Cedia Expo, which was planned to take place in Denver from September 8 to 12, has been canceled.
Brian Pagel, executive vice president of Emerald Expositions, said that a CEDIA Expo 2020 is planned through a virtual experience. He stressed that:
"Due to recent developments that are beyond our control, we made the difficult decision to officially cancel CEDIA Expo 2020. This is due to COVID-19-related developments including, but not limited to, the Colorado Convention Center's current status as a health care facility for non-emergency COVID-19-related cases; the latest federal measures, including guidelines on the gradual reopening of the U.S. economy; WHO's declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic; the number of confirmed cases worldwide and in the country; current quarantines, containment areas, stay-at-home orders, and restrictions on congregation and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; and the various travel restrictions imposed by the company on employees affecting attendees and participating companies. Maintaining the health and safety of each of our customers, partners and employees remains paramount to us."
He added that they are working hard to develop a virtual experience for the connected tech community. The CEDIA Expo virtual experience will launch in September and will offer everything you need to take your residential technology business to the next level. From panel sessions on topical issues to keynotes, product discovery, networking and an interactive exhibit room.
The next CEDIA Expo in person will take place September 1-3, 2021 in Indianapolis, IN, home of the CEDIA Association.
