Latin America. Since 1999 the integrator Creatio operates in different cities of Mexico and thanks to the growth has been able to implement projects in Central and South America, the United States and England, serving all the verticals of the AV industry, although with greater strength in the corporate and government sectors.
To continue growing in this dynamic industry, Juan Carlos Martínez Minutti, CEO of the company, decided to join ConsorcioTec, the first purchasing group in Latin America. He spoke with AVI LATINOAMÉRICA about this linkage and the industry in his home country.
He stressed that in Mexico the audiovisual industry has been growing as companies become aware of the importance of having good communication and collaboration tools, more and more entrepreneurs and managers of companies realize that they have better technologies and this is making the AV market grow. And also the AV industry is becoming more and more professionalized from the point of view of supply
On the link of his company to ConsorcioTec, he pointed out that "Consorcio Tec gives us the opportunity to access new suppliers and new technologies on the one hand, and on the other hand it helps us to be able to link with more business partners in other countries. We hope to have better purchase conditions, better prices and more offer than the one we are currently working on."
Impacts of Covid-19
Juan Carlos Martínez Minutti analyzed the impact that Covid-19 will have on the audiovisual industry. He stressed that it has slowed down a huge number of projects, of which it is clear if they will be reactivated or if they will survive.
"Many companies are deciding to leave a part of their employees in the home office (even ending the contingency) and this will cause investments to be stopped or canceled outright for some time. There will be a significant reduction in workspace and this means that AV equipment is no longer needed. Overall it's going to affect our industry a lot for many more months, a year at least."
Finally, on the changes he has adopted in his company after the pandemic, he indicated that the home office was implemented for all employees. Some areas of work did not stop, such as design, administration and sales, and others were practically completely paralyzed, such as facilities and technical support, in these cases it was used to train and certify.
"We also took the opportunity to resume English courses for some collaborators. And even with distance, we have learned to work with better communication thanks to videoconferencing. In fact, several employees will probably stay in the home office for a longer time by demonstrating that they have been more efficient. In other cases we saw that the same way of working did not work. We have already seen that the home office is not for everyone," he concluded.
