Mexico. The León Light Fest defined its winners after two days of artistic audiovisual proposals on monumental facades, being the first place for the 'K-to's Team', made up of Daniel García, Diego Rojas, Diego Gaona, Eduardo Banda, Jonathan Alonso and Víctor Cruz, from the Ibero-American University of León.
The winners presented the piece "Do Not Announce", a brief journey through the different walls that have been used to communicate a message, from the caverns in hunting times, to a futuristic cyberpunk world.
The third edition of the León Light Fest, was held this December 3 and 4, and had the participation of multidisciplinary groups from different universities, which on the façade of the Roberto Plasencia Saldaña Bicentennial Theater in León, Guanajuato presented 25 video works, with the theme "Urban Art", in which 5 Epson projectors were used that in sum offered more than 100 thousand lumens of intensity.
The members of the jury composed of Adela Kriland, from Omagica, considered the mother of video mapping; Moisés Regla and Luis Rueda, from Medusa Lab; Manolo Orta, from Ilumotion; as well as the special guest Georgina Villanueva, Miss Guanajuato 2019, announced the winners of the first three places and an honorable mention.
They defined in second place the team 'Error 404' of the Ibero-American University of León with the piece "Lava más allá"; and the third place for 'PUERCXS' of the Autonomous Metropolitan University with "Vivas nos queremos". In addition, 'Red Design' of the Autonomous Metropolitan University achieved an honorable mention with "The elements of the universe".
"Spectacular everything that has been observed, excellent materials, great creativity, a great technical deployment as well. Congratulations and thanks to all the participants because without them this would not have the success that has been formed, "said Leopoldo Parra, Regional Manager of High Luminosity Video Projectors for Epson Mexico and CCA.
During the ceremony, the work of Daniel Macías, José Zúñiga, Gabriel Ravelo, Leopoldo Parra, César Román, Daniel Mino, Manolo Orta and Moisés Garza was also recognized, who trained the participants virtually and free of charge since September.
"We are going to make an effort to invite the main cities of the country such as Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes to join this initiative and see a richer, more complex level of competition, with different visions and we invite you to start preparing this year to make a Léon Light Fest, fourth edition," said Bernardo Larraguivel, General Director of the festival.
With this participation, Epson reaffirms its commitment to the university community by offering different options for them to exploit their creativity in an audiovisual way on any surface with the highest precision and image quality.
