Latin America. Christie collaborates with the new graduate programs in Themed Experiences at the University of Central Florida (UCF). UCF is the first university to offer a graduate degree and a master of fine arts degree in Thematic Experiences. Both programs provide hands-on training on the skills, processes, and concepts needed to design and produce thematic environments.
Graduate degrees in Thematic Experiences build on the strength and diversity of UCF's theater, art, design, and hospitality programs. With their ideal Orlando location, the international hub of the themed entertainment industry, and their Advisory Board with industry leaders from companies such as Disney, Universal, Falcon's Beyond, AOA, and Orlando Magic, the two graduate programs are well positioned to guide students in the world of themed entertainment.
To help students gain the practical knowledge and experience needed to work in this field, Christie has partnered with the university to provide students with its technology, including 1DLP® projectors, Christie Pandoras Box players, and Widget Designer for custom show control. In addition, Christie's product technicians are providing students with face-to-face and virtual training, as well as support with the year-end 3D mapping project.
"We are grateful to Christie for providing this unique opportunity for our students to experiment and learn through their industry-leading systems," said Peter Weishar, director of graduate programs in Thematic Experiences. "UCF students are exceptionally dedicated and talented. They are the future of the themed entertainment industry and will start their careers with a wealth of experience and knowledge of Christie's high-end projection mapping tools."
