Latin America. ClearOne released two new camera control modules for Extron control systems that are designed to work with ClearOne's BMA 360 Beamforming Microphone Array and ClearOne's UNITE 200 ceilingtop, or any other Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera that complies with the industry-standard VISCA control protocol.
One of the two new modules is designed for use with Extron's IP Link Pro series of control processors, Media Link Plus series of controllers, HC 400 series, and TLS Pro series. The other module is designed for use with Extron's Link Pro series of IP control processors.
The new modules dramatically simplify the configuration of the BMA 360's camera control function and come with an easy-to-use graphical interface that associates PTZ presets on the camera with BMA 360 Beam Reports.
When a local interlocutor activates a given beam on the BMA 360, the control modules retrieve the associated PTZ preset in the camera. The modules also incorporate a "No Active Beam" detection function that can return the camera to a "starting" position after a period of voice inactivity.
Previously, ClearOne provided sample code and command documentation to help Extron programmers build their own custom camera control modules. While that gave programmers the ultimate in flexibility, ClearOne customers called for a pre-programmed solution that would cover most camera tracking apps.
