Latin America. Companies have faced great changes due to the pandemic that occurred, and that is why they have begun to remodel their spaces in order to allow and welcome hybrid work, that is, both in the office and remotely. Employers are reinventing corporate and office spaces, allowing people to collaborate and participate together, where the pandemic context has been driving a huge trend of video walls in the workplace.
Opinion leaders have given their point of view about what hybrid work can impact in daily life and the solutions that make it up. Tan Loong Gan, vice president of immersive experience for Asia Pacific and general manager of Barco in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, having nearly three decades of experience in the industry is excited about the current technological transformation in the workplace.
"The pandemic has shaped the workplace itself, it will never be the same in the so-called new normal. Despite the sudden increase in working from home and shared desks, many multinationals have already adopted this concept for decades. However, what has changed is that now everyone appreciates and values being able to see each other, virtually or physically speaking," said Tan Loong Gan, vice president of immersive experience for Asia Pacific.
For two years the workers had to separate, learning to be able to work in union with technology, for example, through large video walls where life-size projections of remote participants provide a level of interaction and family connection similar to being together in the same room.
What allows employees to have a connection with each other are emerging trends as they give physical changes to the workplace, in which you can find maximizing productivity, flexibility and decision making.
"At the end of the day, display technology is all about showing results. Humans are highly visual creatures. It must be able to relate images, data and infographics to promote debates and decisions," says Manuel Navarrete, Sales Manager at Barco Colombia.
All the while there is a growing demand for data to make informed decisions. Nowadays companies can talk about the cloud and data visualization, but you must have the right screen size to be able to have a quality visualization.
Although it not only includes hybrid work but also those organizations that have opted for work from home, this type of work together with digital communications are two key elements to inspire employees.
Sizing the office implies optimizing the rest of the spaces giving it different uses, that is why the videowall takes an important role in making the spaces more versatile, allowing multipurpose applications, to make the design efficient and interactive. And it is the same with companies that receive customers in the lobby, they are received by providing them with new and unique experiences.
"The future workspace we envision is not only empowering employees working from home, but also motivating and improving performance," said Manuel Navarrete, Sales Manager of Barco Colombia.
Another trend is to have more interactive content and that is why companies are considering multisensory installation so that customers and employees enhance what they want to see instead of what the company wants them to see.
"With true interactivity and multi-touch capabilities, viewers are in control. This could be in a lobby space for visitors to interact with the screen, or content that follows viewers from one end of the video wall to the other. This can be integrated to better curate the viewer experience in those multipurpose workspaces," concluded Manuel Navarrete, Sales Manager at Barco Colombia.
The main objective should always be to provide incredible experiences to its employees, Barco offers integral solutions, from screens in lobbies, to e-learning platforms and unified communications. A seamless customer experience, maximum services and support for the end user at every stage of the process.
