Colombia revolutionizes its AV Pro systems

Colombia. Bogotá will host the seventh edition of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia which, with a growth in the number of attendees of 17% from one version to another, will convene from October 10 to 13 the public interested in trends in AV solutions, lighting and professional integrated systems, thus bringing together the main manufacturers, distributors and integrators of this technological segment.

This meeting is organized and replicated by AVI Latin America Magazine and InfoComm in its main Latin markets: Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia; the latter being a country that demonstrates a growth and interest in these solutions, especially in the AV and Construction Segment, which represented in 2015 an attendance of 21% and 20% respectively, which denotes the interest of these professionals to technify their market.

According to surveys conducted by AVI Latin America Magazine and InfoComm, which record the main consumer trends and interests of attendees in the three countries where the fair is held, Colombia presents an increase in the adoption of events and live shows, which impact in a transversal way the solutions exhibited at the fair. On the other hand, the attendees of the AV market in Mexico are inclined to integrate technologies and in Brazil for integration with security systems, taking into account that the fair is held in conjunction with Exposec.

"We are satisfied with the reception that the fair has had edition after edition. Since 2012, we have recorded an average growth of 28%, which makes Colombia a country with a strong interest in hosting this type of technology. Last year, 20% of attendees bought within the framework of the event and 47% planned to do so six months later, which places this fair in the preference of the Colombian corporate market, as has happened in the US markets. USA and Mexico," says Víctor Alarcon, Project Manager of the event.

The fair exhibits in three days the best and most modern that the audiovisual world offers. Last year, the event in Colombia was attended by 4,274 attendees, mostly Engineering Managers and Directors, interested in knowing first-hand products launched at the main fairs in the US and Germany, with TecnoMultimedia InfoComm being the window to officially present them in the country.

TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, in tune with market trends According to ECLAC's "The New Digital Revolution" study published in 2015, Colombia is among the countries that has grown the most in the face of its inhabitants' Internet access; this is in line with figures from the Ministry of ICT, which indicates that 64% of households in cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants have an internet connection, which has led to an increase in the Internet of Things and, therefore, a greater adoption of home automation and automation in the country.

That is why TecnoMultimedia InfoComm opens a space for the manufacturers of these solutions, whose implementation is driven to a greater extent by the middle class, interested in equipping their homes. Similarly, for InfoComm, the High End market will maintain its growth at 20%, according to studies conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Parks Associates, which affirm that the purchase and use of smart devices for various functions in the home will remain in this trend for the next two years.

These consumer trends have motivated the Colombian government to invest $5 billion for the creation of the Center of Excellence and Appropriation in the Internet of Things (CEA-IoT), in order to promote solutions and platforms that increase their consumption in the country.

According to the research firm Gartner, about 1.6 trillion connected things will be used in smart cities during 2016, which entails an increase of 39% compared to 2015, with business centers being the main generators of this demand, followed by homes that will have more than 1 billion connected devices by 2018.

This means that by 2020 more than 20.8 billion connected devices will be reached, tripling the earth's population.
