Red Bull and Shure team up for audio experiment

Latin America. Shure and Red Bull announced a partnership to create, through the reengineering of audios recorded at live events, an exciting musical adventure. During the second half of 2018, Shure has worked in conjunction with Red Bull with the aim of equipping three emerging producers with the recently launched MV88+ video kit in order to capture the sounds of three of Red Bull's biggest sporting events. The result is "Soundscapes", ingeniously produced audio tracks.

"In sporting events, sound is usually not given importance, or it is considered secondary. However, if you think about it, the images of live sporting events would be nothing without audio, as in the case of skaters sliding on a track at record speed, public cheering, split-second turns, kicks, growls, jumps and falls. These are the moments that make an experience truly exciting," said Paul Crognale, Shure's Global Audio Marketing Manager for Musicians and Consumers.

He added, "The need for exceptional sound in sports is undeniable and challenging in such conditions. Through this campaign, and the partnership with Red Bull, we have the possibility to bring extraordinary experiences to life with the MV88+ Video Kit."

Each of the producers used the MV88+ Video Kit, Shure's latest addition to its successful MOTIV line of digital microphones and portable recording solutions, to capture high-quality audio. Producers leveraged the multifunction solution to record professional-quality content on the go, transforming red Bull's three events into more than just a visual spectacle.

Super immersive audio recordings achieve an incredible "like you're there" experience, offering listeners the opportunity to see, feel, and hear each and every exciting aspect of events. The MV88+ Video Kit includes a Manfrotto PIXI tripod, phone clip and mount, as well as iOS and USB-C cables that provide the most advanced connectivity and compatibility.

The three producers attended three of Red Bull's most iconic events around the world in order to create three unique soundscapes using the MV88+ Video Kit, engraving moments from each show. The first was NTS Radio's Anz at the Red Bull Hardline in Wales, and captured the sounds and excitement of one of the world's toughest mountain bike races.

Next up was the popular Red Bull air race in the United States, which brings together the best racing pilots in the world. Producer/DJ Shy One from South London recorded the unique soundscapes of race planes reaching speeds of almost 240 miles per hour, and mixed them into a very interesting audio track. In Japan, Coconut Beats recorded HAAi the fastest audio of the sport on skates, the Red Bull Crashed Ice. The sounds were captured in a split second, when the athletes suffered falls, picked up their hair and spun at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
