70% of companies use video collaboration systems

atlona

Mexico. With the return to offices and the application of sanitary measures to cope with the new normal, videoconferencing and video collaboration systems have become key to business continuity, according to Atlona.

In Mexico, 7 out of 10 companies, in addition to using videoconferencing platforms, have made use of video collaboration systems that allow interaction between members of the organization and facilitate joint work.

And, according to the company specialized in AV systems, so far in 2022 there has been an increase in solutions with applications for home office systems, which goes hand in hand with a growth of up to 200% in requests for boardrooms, showing a constant development of the AV market that has been maintained since 2020. In contrast, the company notes that there is a slowdown in the implementation of AV projects in the education sector.

With this in mind, Atlona specialists point out that the main trends for the second half of 2022 will be:

Use of flexible equipment: Solutions that allow the use of devices of different brands and compatibility with different platforms will be vital for the development of videoconferencing and collaboration systems within schools, hybrid offices and digital buildings. Its implementation enhances the user experience and will allow better results.
The home office market is going to slow down: Due to the gradual return to offices and the development of hybrid work systems, investments in AV systems will be focused on the corporate area, with boardrooms and lounges that have the functionality of hybrid videoconferencing platforms.
There is a growing adoption of hybrid systems: During the second half of 2022, AV systems projects are expected to rebound due to the gradual return to face-to-face systems and the growing demand for hybrid teaching systems.
Updating spaces: According to data from Atlona, 70% of boardrooms need to be updated to adapt to video collaboration systems. It is expected that by the second half of 2022 digital transformation projects of spaces will be resumed, thus helping the implementation of AV systems.
The use of automation solutions will increase: The application of automation and control solutions will be the most used, as organizations begin to prepare for the return to hybrid work schemes.
Future challenges: Implementation times for AV projects will be shorter and will require manufacturers and distributors to have a robust logistics infrastructure and greater product availability to meet the needs of companies. In this sense, integration and distribution channels, in addition to architects and engineers specialized in developing digital transformation projects, have a great opportunity due to the increase in demand for solutions.
The use of cameras will be vital: Due to the development of hybrid work systems, it is expected that in the second half of 2022 companies will consider acquiring video cameras that cover their transmission needs in high quality at a competitive price. In Atlona, for example, the Captivate™ 4K ePTZ camera is being promoted in the market, which offers state-of-the-art multiplatform technology for use in small and medium-sized rooms.

"Although there is a constant development in the market, during this period of pandemic, the Audio and Video sector has faced some challenges, such as extended delivery times, which are due to the shortage of containers and technological inputs such as microchips. Additionally, another challenge is the demand for specialists, that is, certified personnel for the distribution and implementation of these solutions that can help companies generate plans to meet their objectives," said Mauricio Escobar, Atlona's channel account manager for the Caribbean and Latin America.

Consequently, the Atlona expert recommends that companies consult with a certified specialist who allows them to define their objectives and needs with respect to the implementation of AV systems, in order to make sound decisions about the application of such solutions.

"It is essential that companies identify the use of the boardroom in which they want to deploy the systems, as well as taking into account the number of users who want to participate, the software they plan to use, the acoustics of the venue and the type of connectivity they plan for the venue. With this, they will be able to find multiplatform solutions that adapt to their software needs and that allow the use of solutions from different brands that meet their expectations in audio and video, "concluded Manuel Pineda, head of engineering at Atlona for the Caribbean and Latin America.
