Colombia. In recent weeks, Colombia became the epicenter of an unprecedented experience for the world of professional audio, thanks to the visit of David Brown, co-founder of Soyuz Microphones and Tula Microphones.

Accompanied by Andrés Millán of Boutique Pro Audio, official distributor of both brands in Colombia, Brown embarked on a tour of the cities of Bogotá and Medellín, marking a milestone in academic exchange and technological innovation in the industry.

Innovation & Academia in Medellín
The tour began in Medellín, where Brown and his team made personalized visits to leading figures in the sector such as Yohan Úsuga and Elkin Castañeda of Felino Producciones, and Gabriel Vallejo of Merlin Producciones, Camilo Sánchez of High-End Studios, Mauricio Serna of i/o Recording, among others. This personalized approach underscores the importance of understanding the needs and aspirations of producers, musicians, and engineers in the Colombian context.

In addition, workshops were held at the University of San Buenaventura Medellín and the ITM Metropolitan Technological Institute, demonstrating Soyuz and Tula's commitment to the education and professional development of the Colombian audiovisual community.

A highlight was the immersive event at Jhomer Rios' Music Nebula, where the new Soyuz 013 Ambisonics microphone was unveiled. This event allowed attendees, including Tony Peñarredonda of Discos Fuentes and Daniel Vásquez of Clap Studios, to experience percussion and saxophone recordings in the advanced Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 format, opening up new perspectives on the sonic possibilities.

Bogota: Customization and Advanced Technology
The visit continued in Bogota, where David Brown's agenda was enriched with personalized visits to some of the country's most influential producers, musicians and engineers. Among these outstanding encounters, the visit to the Big Apple of Alejandro Prías and MPC (Mapache), stands out for its special significance, as it counts among its partners members of the renowned Morat gang. These interactions not only offered a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the needs and aspirations of audio professionals in Colombia, but also served to strengthen ties with the country's musical elite, underscoring the importance of direct connection and mutual understanding between creators and providers of advanced technological solutions in the field of professional sound.

Following the meeting with important figures in the industry, academic workshops were held at the Sergio Arboleda University and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in their iconic Centro Ático building. These activities underline the effort to connect with the educational avant-garde and offer future audio professionals state-of-the-art tools and knowledge.

The microphone demonstrations at Groove Studios were another highlight, attracting the likes of Carlos "El Loco" Bedoya and Jairo Barón, among others. These sessions not only highlighted the exceptional quality of Soyuz and Tula's products, but also facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and experiences among attendees.

The finishing touch in Bogotá was the event for the Colombian Association of Broadcasters, where Tula Microphones technologies were presented, both in person and via streaming, demonstrating the potential of these tools to revolutionize the voice-over industry.

Attendees of the demos and workshops led by David Brown were fortunate to witness a truly exclusive event in the world of professional audio. It was a unique opportunity not only to get to know first-hand Soyuz's new features, such as the innovative Soyuz 011 and Soyuz 013 Ambisonics microphones, but also to experience the legendary sound of the iconic 017 Tube, 017 FET, 013 FET, and 023 Bomblet.

The latter, with its limited edition that incorporates a meteorite fragment in the audio signal. In addition, the introduction of the 1973 resonance system, with its intriguing resonance system design in the acoustic chamber, opened a new window into what the future of microphone design could offer. This first-hand opportunity to explore the cutting edge of professional audio technology not only underscored Soyuz's commitment to innovation, but also solidified its position as a leader in creating exceptional sound experiences.
