Ecuador. The Ecuadorian audiovisual market during 2024 has witnessed a remarkable reactivation despite facing political and economic challenges. The prevailing need to generate projects has driven this resurgence, highlighting the corporate sector as the main demander of AV technology. Although the education market shows potential, it has not yet taken off due to the lack of knowledge of new technologies.
This is the assessment of the panorama of the AV industry in Ecuador made by Juan Portugal, technical director of T&S Group, in an interview with AVI Latin America. He highlighted that one of the emblematic projects in which he has recently participated is the completion of the hotel in the city of Piñas, in the south of the country.
This innovative property features ambient music, a restaurant and an auditorium automated by the Bose Control Space Designer system. The implementation of the new Bose Design Max Series and Arena Match models promises to deliver high-quality audio-visual experiences.
Regarding the expectations for the market during the second half of the year, he pointed out that "We have a lot of growth projection since we work with parallel companies to us with the provision of complementary services, thus expanding customer demands according to need. For example, projects that only require audio, video, and in most cases audio-visual systems. We think that the most important thing in our market is the collaboration with companies that provide complementary services to what we do, installation, lighting, etc."
In terms of sustainability, Juan Portugal pointed out that it continues to be a pending challenge in the Ecuadorian audiovisual industry, due to the lack of clear regulations and unfair competition, which hinder the implementation of initiatives in this area. Although sustainability is seen as a desirable objective, reinvestment in knowledge, work tools and equipment stock is presented as a viable alternative in the current panorama.
