Colombia. The audiovisual market in Colombia during 2024 has faced significant challenges, with delayed projects and slower than usual overall activity. This was stated by Luis López, general manager of the Colombian company Videonet, in conversation with AVI Latin America.
He highlighted that, despite these difficulties, growth opportunities are identified in specific sectors, with education and government leading the demand for AV technology.
The need for audio-visual solutions in education to facilitate remote teaching has generated constant demand, while the government seeks to modernize its communication and collaboration infrastructures, providing opportunities for AV technology providers.
A recent example is the retrofitting of meeting rooms at the DIAN (Directorate of National Taxes and Customs), a project aimed at improving the efficiency of meetings and internal communication in a key government entity.
In terms of projections for the company and the industry in 2024, Luis López expects to achieve a growth of 10% compared to the previous year, despite the challenges of the market.
In terms of sustainability, the company has implemented initiatives in collaboration with firms specialized in recycling disused electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and actively participating in international seminars on the subject. These actions reflect a firm commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development in the Colombian audiovisual industry.
