Peru. There were 24 Meyer Sound self-powered speakers, a DiGiCo SD8 digital console, more than 100 lighting instruments and four 200 Kw generators, which required the company dB LUX SAC to organize the celebration of the centenary of the discovery of Machu Picchu.
This installation was a great logistical challenge. Due to the location of the lost city of the Incas, for the transport of the inventory of the production it was necessary train, truck and even local workers who loaded them, sometimes for more than 500 meters on steep slopes and often with heavy downpours.
In addition to the equipment mentioned, there was a complement from the Meyer Sound company composed of ten UPQ-1P speakers, four 500-HP subwoofers for the FOH, the effects systems, ten UM-1P stage monitors and a system for controlling speakers with a Galileo 616 processor.
According to Andrés Cuadros, partner of dB LUX SAC based in Lima, the organizers of the celebration sought to deliver traditional, symphonic and popular music to the spectators gathered on the terraces located on the green slopes.
He added that this assembly needed a "slight ecological footprint" to minimize the impact on the environment, because Machu Picchu is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And for the same reason, the celebration was limited to 700 spectators.
