Brazil. Spain is a country that has a large number of companies dedicated to the manufacture of lighting products for different applications, but due to the economic crisis that is currently experienced in Europe, their sales have been seriously affected.
Therefore, they are now looking to expand their international markets outside the traditional ones in Europe. In this sense, they have set their eyes on Latin America, with the support of the Valencian Institute of Export, Ivex.
The first fruits of this approach will be seen next November, when a mission of companies from the Valencian Community will travel to open new markets for the lighting sector in Brazil. In this country, Spaniards have a small market, which reached 3% of their exports last year and for this year they expect a growth of 7%.
Last March, Brazil reduced taxes on industrialized products by 10%. In addition, the Football World Cup will be held in this country in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016. To this situation is added the increase in the purchasing power of Brazilians, which means that they demand more and more quality and innovative products.
That is why a growth in sales of the lighting industry is expected with the construction of new public and private buildings, to which Spanish manufacturers are betting, who have in Brazil the second destination of their exports after Venezuela.
