Latin America. Alan Parsons' video series on the art and science of sound recording, called ASSR, was made available to educational institutions as an installable app, available in Spanish, English and German.
This educational license contains high quality videos, just like they are on the original dvd. It allows to be installed in the custom video browser for Mac and Windows workstations.
According to its creators, its use and installation is very easy. After installation, the icons of the first five videos appear in the navigation bar with the left and right arrows to locate the 24 videos of the series, which address different topics that have to do with sound recording, such as acoustics and the problems that may arise.
This system is designed in such a way that it allows students to use the application as an immediate source of reference during study or even when carrying out a recording project.
Although the educational license videos play locally on each workstation, it has several online resources that allow students to delve into the topics through a forum supervised by Alan Parson himself and others in which all students of an educational institution can take exams in each of the videos.
There are several educational institutions in the region that have expressed interest in these licenses for their students of audio engineering and music production programs, as is the case of the Javeriana and San Buenaventura universities in Colombia. For more information click here.
