International. Symetrix released SymNet Composer 3.0, an update to the manufacturer's award-winning design architecture software. For version 3.0 it uses Audinate's Dante network technology of compatibility with certain third-party devices present in symNet Composer 2.0, but now extended, thanks to collaboration agreements with Shure and Audio-Technica, to market-leading products.
SymNet Composer 2.0 allowed, for the first time in a DSP software package, integrators using Symetrix's SymNet Edge or DSP Radius to unify their procedures for installing and detecting networks, routing Dante's signal, and installing compatible third-party devices such as Attero Tech or Stewart Audio into a single software.
For Shure users, the SymNet Composer 3.0 incorporates mxWAPT4 and MXWAPT8 access point transceivers (transmitter-receivers) from Shure's Microflex range of wireless systems.
But in addition, SymNet Composer 3.0 adds native Dante configuration to two major products from another major microphone manufacturer: Audio-Technica. The two elements now supported are the new ATND971 surface condenser microphone, which transmits audio and control data via the Dante protocol, and the ATND8677, a desktop microphone stand with Dante output, suitable for flexo-type microphones with three-pin XLRM output connector.
The new version of SymNet Composer also includes a number of improvements to the Window Management Framework (Composer UI), giving the user more freedom to move palettes to the area of the screen they want, reposition them in place and save them in tabbed palettes. You can also create menu bars for frequent access commands and customize toolbars for quick entry into favorites.
