Mexico, With the presence of its new president and CEO, Louis Hernández Jr, who is of Mexican descent, and its local distributor, Artec, Avid presented Everywhere, the company's vision towards the industry, accompanied by its professional solutions for audio, video and its new services on the network.
Omar Martínez, Applications Specialist of Proaudio of Avid, explained that "we are presenting the way in which Avid is going to go to the network, with our Cloud Colaboration, which will allow users of ProTools and Media Composer, to share sessions in different parts of the world, share audio, video and be able to collaborate simultaneously. The ability to collaborate has been requested and that is why we will be launching this service for audio in the first half of the year, after finishing the tests with 100 users around the world. On video it's already working."
In addition to its Vision Everywhere and Cloud Colaboration, Avid presented in Mexico Protools and its versions 12, Dued, Quartet, S3 and S6, as well as the Venue S3L – X system, the Isis 5500 7500 storage solutions, the latter with capacity to support 4K, and the Media Composer Cloud.
Angel Ylisastigui, Marketing Director for Latin America, indicated that the region is of great importance to Avid in many ways. "First, in the quality of broadcasters, the company's biggest customers come from the region, which are TV Globo and Televisa. Second, in the audio part, it is the region that sells the most live sound consoles, specifically Brazil. The region has always been part of Avid's history and we hope it will continue to be so."
For his part, Aquiles Vera, Sales Manager of the audio division for Latin America, commented that "the Avid market in Mexico is fine, there are large and interesting projects that are in process but due to the rise of the dollar they are stopped. We have many projects, both in film and television. The educational part also marks the growth, with good businesses and training professionals with higher quality. The dollar issue has slow business, but we need to get used to those costs."
He added that "the rest of Latin America has come with a constant growth in recent years and the company recognizes that importance, that's why the CEO is visiting the countries and is meeting with customers. Chile and Colombia are two of the countries in the region that have the greatest presence of Avid technology in the industry, but there are also Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru."
These events will also be held in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina.
