International. Barco and 20th Century Fox announced a deal to release the multi-screen Barco films, based on the Barco Escape immersive film format.
Fox will be working with its filmmakers to produce new projects for the format starting with the September release of Maze Runner: The Trials Scorch. As part of the agreement, initially signed for five years, Barco Escape will be installed in a theater owned by the 20 Century Fox studio.
Fox was an early partner of the Barco Escape technology, working hand-in-hand with Barco over the past year to further develop the format and showcase the new theatrical content to audiences.
From Director Wes Ball, The Maze Runner was the first film presented for Escape Ship, with approximately 10 minutes of footage in the format. It debuted in five Cinemark cinemas in the US, and two Kinepolis cinemas in Belgium, all equipped with Escape Ship technology.
The next Project of Barco Escape, will be a special event of Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga that was filmed natively for the format. This will be announced later this year. For more information, visit Ready2Escape.com
