International. Extron Electronics announced that it has acquired the company Entwine AG, based in Zurich, Switzerland, and a leader in software development using open source technologies. Entwine specializes in building end-to-end video capture and presentation capture solutions using Matterhorn, HTML5 and WebRTC.
The Entwine team has decades of real-world experience designing and developing a wide range of video capture and distribution solutions across diverse markets. Its teams of expert engineers have provided practical assistance for the use of open source and video technologies in the education industries and healthcare companies.
"Entwine has demonstrated its expertise in developing software for enterprise-scale systems, including Europe's largest conference capture system at the University of Manchester in the UK, involving more than 300 classrooms," said Andrew Edwards, President of Extron. "With this acquisition, we are excited to add a software engineering group with many years of experience in the field of software-based network presentation capture systems."
